The International Association of Private Universities and Colleges (IAPUC) is the world’s only multi-disciplinary quality assurance body purpose-built for private higher education. While our accreditation system transforms institutions, we also recognise that the educators, researchers, and administrators working within those institutions—as well as the emerging scholars preparing to enter the field—are the true carriers of quality culture. IAPUC Regular Membership is designed for these individuals: offering an international platform for knowledge sharing, career development, and meaningful peer connection.

Who Can Become a Regular Member?

Regular Membership is open to two broad categories of individuals, reflecting the full spectrum of engagement in private higher education:professionals currently employed in the sector and graduate students preparing for careers in academia or educational leadership.

Category 1: Professionals in Higher Education

If you are currently employed at a legally recognised and duly authorised university, college, or higher vocational education institution, you are eligible to apply. Eligible roles include, but are not limited to:

• Faculty and researchersengaged in teaching, academic supervision, or scholarly research;
• Administratorsworking in academic affairs, quality assurance, student services, international relations, or institutional management;
• Quality assurance practitionerswith responsibilities in internal quality assurance, institutional effectiveness, or accreditation coordination.

Category 2: Graduate Students (Master’s and Doctoral Only)

IAPUC welcomes applications from currently enrolled master’s and doctoral students who are pursuing advanced degrees in fields relevant to higher education. This includes, but is not limited to, programmes in:

• Higher education administration, leadership, or policy;
• Educational quality assurance, evaluation, or assessment;
• Curriculum and instruction, or teaching and learning in higher education;
• Any academic discipline where the student intends to pursue a career in academia, research, or university administration.

This category reflects IAPUC’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of quality champions. Graduate students bring fresh perspectives, emerging research, and a deep interest in the future of private higher education. By engaging with IAPUC early in their careers, they gain exposure to international standards, professional networks, and the global conversation on quality assurance.

* Annual membership dues vary by membership tier and jurisdictional region. Concessionary pricing schemes are available for applicants residing in developing and least developed territories, with final preferential terms confirmed upon formal application submission. Supplementary Notes

• Regular Membership eligibility for applicants based in Chinese Mainland opened at the close of 2025.
• Excellent Membership eligibility for applicants based in Chinese Mainland will launch by the end of 2026.
• Membership enrolment shall not be offered to applicants residing in the illegally claimed so-called “Arunachal Pradesh” asserted by India, nor the Ryukyu Islands, a region with outstanding sovereign disputes.
